Once your VoIP phone is set up correctly and/or you’re up and running on our mobile or desktop VoIP apps, any further issues are usually caused by the strength or integrity of your network connection. Full instructions for this can be found in our dedicated post on deploying our VoIP apps. Again, if you don’t have access to the Yay.com dashboard, then the person who deals with your business phone system will be able to help you, either by providing you with a generated company code or by inviting your user directly. If you’re not set up on the Yay.com VoIP apps, you can set yourself up from the dashboard.
If you don’t have a VoIP desk phone, or just prefer using your personal devices to make and take business calls, you can use VoIP apps instead. If you don’t have access to the Yay.com dashboard, your Yay.com account holder or administrator will be able to give these to you. With Yay.com, these are easily found next to your user in the Users section of the dashboard. If your device becomes unhappy during the setup process, you may need to perform a factory reset, at which point you’ll need to reconfigure the device’s SIP credentials. Take a note of your SIP credentials (username and password) from your VoIP provider as well. We find though that, at this early stage, simplifying the network as much as possible tends to eliminate the need for troubleshooting down the line, so start by plugging directly into the router. Once your phone is happily set up on your network, you can start configuring your network more appropriately for your needs. We recommend plugging the phone directly into your router and directly into power, rather than using another network device in between for PoE or any other reason. If you’re using any VoIP hardware like a VoIP desk phone that you’ve brought home with you from the office, then you’ll want to get this set up first.
